Edwynne "Polly" C. Rosenbaum was a founding member of the Beta Gamma chapter at the University of Colorado at Boulder, initiated in May 1925. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in history and political science and went on to receive a master's degree in education from the Universtiy of Southern California.
Her teaching career took her to Arizona, where she supplemented her teaching career by working as a secretary. It was through this work that Polly met her husband, William "Rosey" Rosenbaum, a member of the Arizona House of Representatives.
When her husband died unexpectedly in 1949, Polly was appointed to fill the remainder of his term, taking office in January 1949. Polly went on to run for the seat on her own in the next general election and won. She went on to win 22 elections to two-year terms, retiring at the age of 95 in 1994.
