Mabel Cooper Lamb Scholarship

  • Open to: Either Graduate or Undergraduate Students Mabel Cooper Lamb.JPG
Mabel Cooper Lamb was initiated by the Omega chapter at the University of Texas at Austin in October 1924.

She gave graciously to Alpha Phi throughout her life - contributions of her time, energy and love. She served as International director of programs, International vice president of Alpha Phi and as an Alpha Phi Foundation trustee.

It is in the business world that Mabel was a truly inspiring example of an Alpha Phi who had developed her abilities and her talents. She was a magazine/newspaper writer in the 1920s, was the first woman to fly over Mexico and Central America in a single-engine plane, and established her own multi-million dollar real estate business, Mabel C. Lamb, Inc.

In Mabel's honor this scholarship is presented each year to an all-around woman, a leader and a doer.
