  • Chapter(s) Eligible: Epsilon (Minnesota)
Martha was initiated by the Zeta chapter at Goucher College in January 1921. She  served as district governor 1946 to 1950, and on Alpha Phi's International Executive Board 1950 to 1954. Martha lived most of her life in Minneapolis. This scholarship was endowed by her family and friends in her memory.

Here are Martha's "Fundamental thoughts which summarize Alpha Phi's ideals, hopes and aspirations for us all" that she shared in a speech to a chapter during her time as district governor:
  • Take Time to Work - it is the price of success
  • Take Time to Think - it is the source of power
  • Take Time to Play - it is the secret of perpetual youth
  • Take Time to Read - it is the foundation of wisdom
  • Take Time to Dream - it is hitching your wagon to a star
  • Take Time to Love and be Loved - for it is a privelege
  • Take Time to Look Around You - the day is too short to be selfish
  • Take Time to Laugh - for laughter is the music of the soul
  • Take Time to Have a Friend and Be One - for through friendship we double happiness and cut sorrow in half
