Sharon pledged Alpha Phi in the spring of 1975. She served as Gamma Beta's first Vice President and was a member of the UC/Santa Barbara Mortar Board. Sharon was an excellent student while at UC/Santa Barbara, receiving an Alpha Phi Foundation Scholarship for outstanding achievement in addition to graduating with high honors.

Sharon was a loving wife, mother and teacher. She was passionate about making learning fun for her students and incorporated art, music, dance and Latin culture into her lessons. After 20 years of teaching, Sharon retired in 2011. Tragically, she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer shortly thereafter and passed away in 2012.

She lived her life in the pursuit of helping others reach their highest potential. She also believed in the power of sisterhood. In 2004, she wrote in an Alpha Phi Alumnae newsletter, "My truest friends are those in Alpha Phi. Although I don't see many of them very often, I know I can count on them for love and support."
