“The years of leadership mentoring I have experienced through Alpha Phi have shaped me into the state educational leader I am today. Last year, during a challenging period in my career, receiving a Foundation scholarship reaffirmed Alpha Phi’s belief in me and revitalized my commitment to the field of education. This support has deeply influenced my journey, allowing me to pursue my dream of becoming the state coordinator of mathematics. In this role, I have the opportunity to mentor and support educators, generate innovative methodologies to promote student learning in mathematics, and provide vital resources that honor the cultural practices and mathematical knowledge of our states’ Indigenous Peoples. This award supports my drive to advance my studies in educational leadership, empowering me to build on Alpha Phi’s foundational leadership principles. Through this generous support, I am poised to make a lasting impact on mathematics education, benefiting educators and students across our state.”
