“As a first generation graduate student, I am honoured to receive the Doris Corbett Scholarship as I work towards my dream of becoming a psychology professor. Although the journey can be hard at times, I am so fortunate to always have my sisters and the Alpha Phi Foundation supporting me. This scholarship alleviates many financial barriers and allows me the opportunity to gain experience and further develop my leadership and mentorship without the financial stress that graduate studies often bring. Throughout my degree, I have focused on exploring beneficial and adaptive coping mechanisms for those who struggle with social anxiety. Thank you Alpha Phi for helping make my dreams come true!”
