Chapter Spotlight – Gamma (DePauw)

This week’s Chapter Spotlight is Gamma (DePauw) who doubled the proceeds at their 2013 Red Dress Gala! Vice President of Marketing Emmy Shiring shares some tips with us.

What made this year different?
We made two major changes in the planning of this year’s Gala. First, we decided to host our Gala over DePauw’s parent’s weekend. This made it easier as parents were already planning to be on campus. Second, we extended invitations to alumnae as well.

Other tips and tricks to share?
We sent out an “auction catalog” to all the parents and alumnae prior to the Gala. This helped guests come to the event with items in mind that they wanted to bid on in the auction!
