Celebrating 147 years with Founders Day of Giving!
Over a period of 18 hours and 72 minutes filled with excitement and celebration, sisters, family and friends alike sprang into action to honor 147 years of Alpha Phi. With you on this Founders Day of Giving, we raised an incredible $156,426 to secure the future of women scholars, leaders, and innovators.
Kicking off at 6:00 AM EST, 956 donors joined forces to make this one of our most successful giving days to date. With the opportunity to give to a greater number of funds this year, 1,044 of gifts were made to support the area of greatest need, endowment for leadership, endowment for women’s heart health, and a number of chapter scholarship and chapter leadership funds.
Founders Day of Giving 2019 marked the return of the Chapter Leaderboard, challenging our sisters to rally their networks on behalf of their collegiate chapters. While all rose to the occasion, only five could come out on top! Congratulations to our sisters at…
- Alpha (Syracuse)
- Gamma (DePauw)
- Delta Beta (Texas A&M Commerce)
- Beta Pi (USC)
- Theta (Michigan)
Donors of all kinds united to support chapter-specific scholarships for the members of Beta (Northwestern), Delta Chi (William Woods), Epsilon Nu (Delaware), Gamma Rho (Penn State), Gamma Sigma (Wisconsin- Stout), Iota Omega (Ole Miss), and Zeta Iota (Virginia), and support chapter leadership funds for Beta Epsilon (Arizona), Beta Mu (Alabama), Beta Pi (USC), Delta Beta (Texas A&M Commerce), Epsilon Gamma (Sacramento State), Eta Lambda (George Mason), Gamma Iota (Texas Tech), Gamma Kappa (CSU Long Beach), and Kappa Epsilon (Georgia).
Celebrations around the world
Offline, Alpha Phi’s across the globe came together to reconnect and celebrate Founders Day of Giving! A special thank you to our sisters in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, London, New York City, Seattle, San Francisco, and San Jose who gathered and gave in honor of the Original Ten.
To all that joined us on this momentous day online, offline, and in office, thank you for honoring our past, advancing our future, and inspiring Alpha Phi’s everywhere to make October 10 count!
