Alpha Phi Foundation is proud to announce that on August 30, 2022, we were awarded Best Use of a Foundation Grant by the Foundation for Fraternal Excellence (FFE). FFE’s Awards of Distinction provide the fraternal foundation community an annual opportunity to recognize organizations excelling and innovating in a particular area.

Above and beyond expectations

The Alpha Phi Leadership Institute grant supported a three-day immersive experience in partnership with the Disney Institute in Orlando, FL. A curriculum customized to Alpha Phi, this program was designed for participants to grow their leadership skills, learn to lead with purpose, identify personal values and translate them to individual leadership, discover the importance of emotional intelligence, and rupture barriers of stereotypes within their communities.

As the first fraternal organization to partner with Disney, an industry expert in leadership training, our rising Alpha Phi leaders received a premiere experience.

“As a leader, I am always looking for new and innovative ways to grow and be the best self that I can be. The Alpha Phi Leadership Institute helped me do this in ways that I will forever be grateful for. The programming consisted of engaging and interactive lessons pertaining to communication, trust, teamwork, writing your legacy as a leader, and so much more! I could not be more honored to have attended the Alpha Phi Leadership Institute and feel incredibly blessed to have made the friendships and connections I did throughout the weekend! The generosity of the Alpha Phi Foundation donors will forever have a major impact on my experience and that is something that I will never forget.”

The Applicants

With a focus on learning how their leadership skills are transferable within their chapters and communities, there was an overwhelming desire by collegians to attend this new and unique institute.

418 collegians applied, and every chapter was granted the opportunity to send a member. 164 undergraduates attended the Institute across Alpha Phi chapters in North America, spanning rising sophomore (42%), junior (38%), and senior (20%) members.

The 2022 Alpha Phi Leadership Institute with Disney Institute will be hosted September 23-25 with 165 Alpha Phis projected to attend.

The Alpha Phi Leadership Institute is funded by Foundation donors who recognize the importance of developing skills and empowering women to lead. Join us for 24 hours of generosity on September 23-24, 2022 for Leadership Day of Giving to support innovative leadership programming like the Alpha Phi Leadership Institute.
